Arbor Day Community Tree Planting

Your $150 donation goes toward two trees that will be planted in community with others who have donated towards this event. Your contribution includes an email invitation for you and your honoree to join fellow community members at the group Arbor Day Community Tree Planting Ceremony.  Please note that this is not a private tree planting.

Your invitation will be sent in early April for you, your honoree, and up to 2 guests each (6 attendees in total). The invitation will detail the event timing, location, and species of the two trees to be planted. A GPS pin will show you the Arbor Day trees' exact location.

The Arbor Day Community Tree Planting is a rain or shine event and will only be postponed due to inclement weather at the arborist's discretion.

Alliance Staff will greet you onsite at the event. There will be refreshments available. Following an introductory speech, there will be a moment of silence for honorees.  The two trees being planted will already be in their holes, and there will be additional shovels available for you and your guests to assist in helping to plant the trees. You can shovel as little or as much as you like. Once the trees are planted, a temporary fence will be placed around each tree for two years.

We request that you do not hang any photos or other materials on the temporary fencing. 

Prospect Park Alliance’s Commemorative Tree program has been largely suspended so we can focus our efforts on the care of our existing landscape trees. We thank those of you who have participated in this program over the years. We encourage you to look at our Commemorative Bench program, Arbor Day Community Tree Planting, or Native Plant Adoption options.
